I’m a writer and researcher from London. Currently, I’m also a Junior Fellow in the Harvard Society of Fellows where I’m at work on two academic books. My research sits at the intersection of social, intellectual, and literary history, with a particular focus on the political activism of working class poets. I completed my BA, MPhil, and PhD at the University of Cambridge, passing my viva without correction in September 2025. During my PhD, I was a Visiting Scholar at Columbia University, and the William H. Helfand Fellow at the Grolier Club of New York. Prior to attending university, I was educated entirely at state schools in Lambeth, South London.
Originally from Brixton, South London, I now live and work in Cambridge, Massachusetts. As a first-generation academic who was born and raised in social housing, I’m also particularly interested in issues relating to access to higher education and welcome contact from students and researchers from other underrepresented backgrounds.
Outside of academia, I’m also part of the team behind Club Urania, a Cambridge-based night for queer performance art, programmed in collaboration with Wysing Arts Centre. In my spare time, I play a lot of football and (unfortunately) support West Ham United.
